What is floorball?
Floorball is a fast-paced, exciting, safe and low-cost type of co-ed indoor hockey. It resembles floor hockey or ball hockey but is played with light-weight, plastic composite sticks, a whiffle ball and rules that promote safety and skill. Floorball is extremely popular in Europe and has over 2 million players in 35 countries.

What equipment do you need to play floorball?
Floorball is played with advanced, light-weight floorball sticks and a whiffle ball. Floorball sticks resemble a cross between a hockey stick and a golf club with a tennis racket-like grip. The sticks allow for unparalleled ball control and shooting. Currently the worlds hardest floorball shot is an amazing 188 km/h!
You can get started playing floorball with just a stick and a ball. Goaltenders can be added to the game but are not required. In floorball, the goaltender does not use a stick, but rather they play on their knees and catch the ball with both hands. Specialized goaltender equipment includes goalie pants, knee pads, a padded chest protector, a helmet and gloves.
How do I choose a stick?
You need to think about which way you shoot, the length, stiffness, flex, etc. Read more about how to choose your first stick.
